PRO SMALL BUSINESS. PRO JOB GROWTH. PRO LOWERING TAXES. PRO GOVERNMENT ACCONTABILITY. PRO FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY.
I will be speaking on the 88.7 FM morning show from 7 am-8am on Friday April 29th.
Early voting April 26-May 4 and election May 8
While I do think Cedar Park is on a successful track, I believe there are some things that we should do as a city council to continue our city's current and future success.
We need to have sensible growth. We need to be sure that what we build has good purpose, such as larger companies who will employ or projects that will continue to make Cedar Park a destination city, all while keeping land available for trails, parks and eventually a large sports facility for our children's sports leagues such as football and soccer.
I believe we need to pick up the volume on the rehabilitation of Bell (Hwy 183), by continuing to work with businesses on improving their look, by adding more permanent traffic light fixtures, by removing large eyesore signs and replacing them with more attractive ground signs, and by getting the road in better driving condition.
I also believe we need to pick up the pace on rehabilitating our older parks. We have done alot of this in the two years I have been on the Parks and Recreation Board and I have proposed and supported spending more money than we have so far to improve our city and neighborhood parks.
I can say I am very proud of the accomplishments made during my time on the parks board, seeing the skate park started and near completion, final phases on Brushy Creek Sports Park, local park rehabilitaions, the planning of an historic park, and of course the Veterans Memorial Park phase two and monument selection.
I believe that we should look into ways to decrease our property tax burden on the citizens of Cedar Park, not just keeping it the same with lower property values that appear that the tax burden was lowered. I will look to find every dollar I can save the taxpayer so that you can use that money for you and your family.
I have the knowledge to do the job that needs to be done. I have experience with how our city works and the processes for getting things accomplished.
I have the trust you need in an elected official. I have not made it in the automotive parts and service industry for fifteen years without being able to be trusted by my customers and my employers.
I also have the responsibility to do the job. I don't miss meetings, I believe that this elected position is a high priority and I am responsible to make the right decisions that are best for our community.
I have what it takes to get the job done, and I promise to serve you well.
Thank you and God Bless
Wayne Ruark
